The Wisdom in Asking Questions

Woke up around 5 something in the morning and started crocheting the owl key chains for one of my custom made orders.

As I was stacking those colorful and unfilled pieces up (the fun in making colorful projects) and looking at my other owl project, this scenario came to my mind:

Have you ever encountered people asking you a very simple question and yet you just have the toughest time or feeling too awkward to give them an answer?

At times, we tend to just blurt out questions with no consideration of the person’s feelings just because we wanted AN ANSWER to satisfy our curiosity at that very moment — and I am guilty of that.

Sympletots - Asking Questions

Simple and seemingly harmless questions can and will transform into daggers when they are being thrown out at the incorrect moment and hit the bull eye of one’s heart.

Therefore, besides cracking our heads in trying to give people their answers, we may need to spare a few moments in our lives to develop the wisdom in asking a good, sometimes stupid but definitely not a question that would hurt.

Did I offer peace today?

Did I bring a smile to someone’s face?

Did I say words of healing?

Did I let go of my anger and resentment?

Did I forgive? Did I love?

These are the real questions.

I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits;

Here in this world and the life to come.

Our Ambition(s)

afterthoughts

This is indeed a very good wake-up-call shared by creativeartworksblog.

If we were to focus on the sufferings caused by the pains given to us by life, we will never be able to understand why there is THE NEED to stay happy even while we are still in the midst of all those sufferings.

This makes “I want to be happy” a tougher ambition than “I want to be a doctor/lawyer/teacher…etc”

Pain is certain, suffering is optional ~ Buddha

What do we want to do when we grow up/older?

Let’s think about it…

Have a wonderful Monday ahead, always!

Till then,

HAYFT – Bad – Until Then, Have a Day!

One of the many definitions for the word “bad” is “of poor or inferior quality”. Experiencing a poor or inferior quality day (a.k.a. bad day) is no stranger to anyone of us and most of the time,  it may appear to be something spontaneous.

Then again, if we were to take a deeper look into it, the contribution of having one bad day is just a cumulative effect of the different events – significant or insignificant – happening in our daily lives.

Before reading the rest of this post, let us watch a video to see if the Amazing Spider-Man is good at dealing with his bad day.

When encountering such a day, it is just like the lyrics in the song “Bad Day” by Daniel Powter – “Sometimes the system goes on the blink and the whole thing turns out wrong”.

The inner frustration sometimes may stop us from knowing what the best solution is in order to end this daylight nightmare.

As I was drafting this post, I suddenly remembered what my former boss used to tell me this:

“Now, ask yourself this, what could be worse than this? Deal with it!”

Well, despite he was the main contributor to many of my bad days at work, I am very thankful that he had instilled me with this mentality.

Okay, enough of my grumbling and let’s continue this post with the sharing of a short and yet inspiring story (Reaching Out – Bad Day by Anonymous) that I’ve stumbled upon:

story-for-bad-post

In life, there is always this ironic feeling to learn that when things seem to be very complicated, maybe all it needs is just a simple solution.

A few months ago, I was intrigued by the remark “福兮,祸兮” the characters made whenever facing with good or bad situations in this drama about the first dowager (Miyue) in China .

These four Chinese characters actually originated from Tao Te Ching “祸兮福所依,福兮祸所伏” (huò xī fú suǒ yǐ,fú xī huò suǒ fú)— whereby the character “祸” (huò) means “trouble” and “福” (fú) means “blessing”.

Literally, it means that a seemingly trouble might be a blessing in disguise and a blessing may just be a peaceful moment before the arrival or a hidden storm.

With this in mind, we must learn not to be too happy when good things are happening to us nor too sad when things tend to turn bad. Setting the irony of life aside, I guess there is always a lesson to be learnt behind every incident, no matter good or bad.

Last but not least, I would like to end this post with another sharing taken from Doctor ASKY to conclude today’s post:

So until then, have a day & TTFN~ Cheers!!

How Are You Feeling Today?

Stumbled upon this “List of Emotions”  as I was doing my routine reading.

As according to Wikipedia, the word “emotion” dates back to 1579, when it was adapted from the French word émouvoir, which means “to stir up”.

“TO STIR UP” indeed….and this is exactly how my heart feels when a sudden news hit me while I was still enjoying the cooling morning rain in bed.

Anger, frustration, sadness, confused, clueless, helpless…..you name them, I felt them….

Don’t worry, I am not going to make you all read what has happened since life still goes on no matter what. Decisions needed to be made fast and actions needed to be taken fast before things start to go haywire and beyond my control.

On the brighter side, when one door closes another door opens and I truly believe that everything happens for a reason.

This sudden situation has indirectly helped me into finalizing the plan that is sitting quietly inside my head all these while due to…erhmmm…*gluped*…procrastination?

  *runs off in shame*

Although there are more hurdles ahead waiting for me to jump, I am feeling hopeful because I know I am not alone to fight this battle for I’ve got my dear family and of course, all you lovely souls out there reading this post. 😀

Anyway, the purpose of this post is to inform you lovely souls that I will be starting a new category “How Are You Feeling Today?” inspired by this list of emotions. I will try my best to blog about each and every emotion mentioned in this list and considering this as a challenge set for myself.

Do feel free to check it out in the near future and just like the title of this category “How Are You Feeling Today?”, you can always share your feelings with us in the comment section if you’ve stumbled upon this humble blog of ours.

Before ending this post, I would like to share this song with all you lovely souls out there as this is the song that I always hum whenever I am feeling low and beat-up in life.

My favourite lines:

But there’s one thing I know
The blues they send to meet me
Won’t defeat me
It won’t be long till happiness
Comes up to greet me

Yes, I am always hopeful that it won’t be long till happiness comes out to greet me and I guess this is probably the main reason why I can deal with the physical pains all these years without taking any pain killers.

By the way, this happened to be the 100th post in this humble blog of ours! Yipeee~ 😀

Be hopeful, always!

Till then,

Cheers & TTFN~ 😀
